I was foolish enough to trade my old key-bak to a coworker, I regretted itso I bought this one and I never trading this one lol.

So far so good. It has a very smooth functionality, appears to be durable.
Hopefully the cord is Kevlar, so I can get several years of use.

It looks like and feels like a large hunk of plastic.

It's perfect for keep my heavy key rings from falling but the cable (string) is shorter than the previous Key-Bak retractable I had.

I am a letter carrier and purchase this product 10 months ago. It is the best key solution I've found. I ran into an issue with the product recently, contacted customer support. Bought my 2nd key bak 21. I work 2 different buildings have to lock and unlock and lots of doors and carry different key. I just clip this to my belt and never have to worry about leaving or losing keys anywhere and chain reaches door locks so fast and easy.

My new KeyBak is just like the one I got in the mid 1970's! With the belt loop I don't have to worry about losing it like I did with my first KeyBak with the belt clip.
My keys are handy when I need them. No fumbling in my pocket or forgetting to put them in my pocket. When I reach down at my side, I know they are there, ready when I need them. Always ready, always secure. And always retract when I am finished with them. KeyBak rules!

After about 2 years in service, my Key-Bak retrieval cord was compromised by a sharp edge in the field and was severed. I went with a new unit rated for more strenuous duty this time. Feeling confident in my new Key-Bak!

I ordered two of the SIDEKICK retractable keychains and while mine works extremely well and is exactly what I want, the other seems to have had its retracting mechanism broken. Overall, it seems like a fluke because the second one works extremely well for its intended purpose!

I have bought retractable lanyards before and they didn't hold up.... but when I found this company, and explained the problems we were having with ours, they recommended these. Huge difference! Never a single problem with any of them now! When we ended up hiring more staff, we didn't bother running to the big box store... we contacted this company once again and ordered more!

I bought the SIDEKICK® TWIST-FREE CARABINER RETRACTABLE KEYCHAIN on Amazon, which made it easy to verify how long it's been in service. Yesterday while heading to my barn it finally failed. The Kevlar line detached at the keys end. It lasted one week shy of SIX YEARS PLUS ONE MONTH! I used it nearly everyday. New one arrives tomorrow but the local locksmith told me that this retractable keychain may have a lifetime warranty so I'll be looking into that. OVER 6 years and around $10.

To be fair, I've only this about a month or so, but so far, it's holding up quite well.

As an ER Trauma nurse, I need a badge buddy that can keep up. The SIDEKICK is able to hold multiple badge buddies and keys without drooping. Completely satisfied, but the housing broke in half 2 months after the warranty expired. 4 stars as I wish it lasted longer.

It does what its intended to but the tether cord is already wearing out and its not like im using it all day and pulling on it all the time. Kind of disappointed in the quality

It's nice to have my badge and work key at hand without having to dig through my pockets. Build quality is top notch too. This isn't some cheap crap you get as a freebie from work.

I bought this for durability as my last reel broke unexpectedly. This came pretty fast in the mail and it's been holding up well.

It's a great product and did what was expected, however, we misjudged the weight of the multiple cards cards and badges we wanted to use it for and it did not retract all the way. Definitely not a product issue! We will probably order a more heavy duty one when we know how many badges/IDs will actually have to be carried.

Pull it out. It goes right back in. Out and back in. It goes in and then when you need to use it it pulls out and back in. Each and every single time. Out then in.

I ordered these badge reels for my girlfriend who is a nurse. They are very high quality and I'm sure they will last for years. I ordered them specifically because they were made in the USA! As an American factory worker I want to thank you for keeping things like these made in this country! The Wuhan Coronavirus has definitely pulled back the curtain and shown just how much out manufacturing capability has been gutted out in the last 40 years and how dependent we are on foreign entities. Until now it's been the best product I've bought, it's very strong, it has survived unexpected harsh pulls and hits. The only issue and the only reason I don't give 5 stars is that is pretty big and long, so it hangs way too much, and if you're walking fast or running it's jumping all over the place, maybe the belt clip was a better option for me.

I bought this item to have a sturdier carabiner for my work badge. It is sturdy and does not seem like it will break any time soon. The reel has a lot of tension compared to other carbiners, which I don't really like. And it is longer than I expected - the length causes your badge to swing quite a bit. It will hit walls or anything you are close to regularly. It does the job, but I'm not completely satisfied with it.

Very solid design, it was bigger than I expected. It would be nice to have a coin or a person's hand in the picture for scale.

Bought the heavy duty one thinking it would last. Its lifespan was about a year and a half. The fiber cord started to fray a few months ago, then broke the other day. On a side note, the plastic housing is pretty cheap, wish they offered a metal version.

I've had a KeyBack for 8 years. While recommending it to a colleague I notice the string seemed frayed. I ordered a new Heavy Duty but the reel is smaller than the old and doesn't seem as strong. Hopefully I received the correct one. Gave 5 stars based on the old one. Hopefully this one holds up

The Carabiner could be a little better quality and the badge hangs a little low. Otherwise happy with it.

Slightly bigger then I expected but got used to it and love it for its sturdiness!

Overall, I am pleased with this sturdy badge holder. After almost one year of use, the lanyard and retractable badge reel have held up to dozens of pulls each day, with no sign of wear or fatigue. However, the snap on the vinyl badge holder failed after just two months of use. I tried to hold the snap together with some electrical tape, but that eventually failed as well. So, I moved my badges to the split ring instead.

The cords keep pulling out of the break-away lugs rendering these very non-secure. Would NOT recommend.

I work in Healthcare and most badge reels I have owned before last no longer than another before the string or clip breaks. These are not only durable but the strap that holds the badge is not plastic! Its some kind of magical vinyl that will definitely not rip over time. This is my go to brand from now on!

The reel isn't particularly noteworthy, but the reels from this company are better than any issued by work or available on Amazon, so it's a solid purchase.

The old way of keeping my name badge and slide keys on a lanyard was unsanitary as a maintenance professional. Also, it could be very dangerous to have a lanyard around my neck. This keeps my credentials close and always on my side.

It made for a beautiful gift.

I've used KeyBak keychain reels many years,they're really good

Worked great for about 2.5 months, then got stuck in a fully extended state.

Got this to tether my keys to a belt loop. I work over water a lot, and was worried about losing my keys. I haven't exactly treated the housing nicely (scraped it on walls, whacked it on various poles, etc.) and it shows no signs of damage

Look at these great new colors!!!! These are the best quality on the market. They end up costing less than cheap badge retractors when you take into account how fast the cheap ones break.
